In this episode, Joel Martin, Laser Tracker Product Manager for Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence, talks about the newest laser scanner, the Leica ATS600. Joel will demonstrate the first-ever Scanning Absolute Distance Meter, a metrology-grade iteration of this technical principle that can locate a point to within 300 microns from up to 60 metres away. He’ll also illustrate its Variable Point Density feature and the all-in-one design.
Hexagon participated in the SME “3D in the D” Scanning event in Detroit, a project that engaged technology leaders to scan objects of interest from landmark sculptures to historic buildings. One of Hexagon’s projects was to scan a large tiger sculpture at Comerica Park, home of the Detroit Tigers. In this episode, Joel Martin, will share his experiences covering a range of technologies used to scan items of varying size and detail.
