The City of Aurora, IL, USA, has selected Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure software to improve public safety dispatching and police records management in Illinois’s second-largest city. The Hexagon software will help improve workflows for dispatchers and first responders and aid in police operations and investigations.
After an extensive selection process, Aurora chose Hexagon for the company’s stability and experience in the public safety market and for the comprehensive capabilities of its computer-aided dispatch (CAD) and records management systems (RMS), which will improve upon the city’s existing technologies.
“With Hexagon’s CAD and RMS, we’ll benefit from a flexible and scalable solution that will support the way our agency operates now and can grow with our future needs,” said Andrew Feuerborn, police technical services director, Aurora Police Department.
The Aurora Police Department will implement Hexagon’s Intergraph Computer-Aided Dispatch (I/CAD), a suite of industry-leading incident management software featuring complete capabilities for call handling and dispatching, intelligent mapping, field communications, data reporting and analysis and application integration. Aurora police will use I/CAD to dispatch city police and fire departments and those from neighbouring jurisdictions.
Aurora police also will deploy Hexagon’s inPURSUIT RMS, a premier suite of records management software that provides users more timely and accurate information to support law enforcement operations, investigations and administration. As part of the contract award, the city also selected FIREHOUSE Software’s fire RMS for use by the Aurora Fire Department.
“Hexagon’s incident and records management systems will provide the City of Aurora proven solutions for police and fire dispatching and enterprise-wide access to police records,” said David McDonald, vice president and general manager, U.S. public safety, Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure. “Aurora joins Chicago O’Hare International Airport and Chicago Midway International Airport as Illinois agencies that rely on Hexagon’s public safety solutions. We look forward to a long-term relationship with Aurora and more opportunities to help improve public safety in Illinois.”
