For more than 60 years, the iF Design Award has been recognised the world over as a label of design excellence, so it’s no surprise that the newly released Leica NA532 level has received a 2016 award in the product discipline for the industry/skilled trades category.
“The NA532 clearly differentiates in the level market with a unique design and colour concept. Hereby, it does not lose its origin, the Leica NA700 Series,” says Stan Maes, product designer. “The dynamic design and compact body underline the performance and represent the quality of the Leica Geosystems brand. The optimised ergonomics of the control knobs will support every user to provide best measurement results.”
The number of competitors was significant: the international high-profile jury assessed more than 5,000 entries from 53 countries to determine who would receive this coveted seal of excellence.
“This iF award confirms the aim of our concept and our commitment to quality and ergonomics. The new Leica NA500 Series provides the user the best reliability, accuracy and quality,” says Matthias Raunhardt, Leica Geosystems project manager. “The NA500 Series has a rugged design based on the expertise of the Leica NA levels experts. This durable design and the high-quality characteristics of the NA500 Series make it best in its class and enable it to overcome all levelling challenges. Even under the harshest site conditions like rain and dust, the NA500 Series levels always provide accurate levelling results.”
The award-winning Leica NA532 level will be featured in one of three subsequent special shows in the iF design exhibition, a permanent exhibition located in the centre of Hamburg, Germany’s HafenCity, the go-to place for those with a special interest in design and architecture.
