Veripos specialises in the provision of precise satellite positioning services. The vast majority of our business is in the marine environment, with more than 90 per cent related to the offshore oil and gas market. As one of the early innovators in the field of precise positioning, Veripos aims to be the market leader in precise navigation and positioning solutions through the innovative application of technology, continuous product development and operational excellence.
Our products and services, which include comprehensive training programmes, are widely used by professionals in key areas of the offshore industry including seismic exploration, survey and construction, DP offshore support vessels and DP drilling. We are totally focused on the success of our clients, for whom we aim to be not just a supplier, but a partner for positioning.
We can achieve accuracy levels down to 5-10cm for vessels working in some of the most remote and harsh environments on Earth. To achieve this, we operate, maintain and control our own network of more than 80 GNSS reference stations to ensure maximum operational reliability. We have three fully redundant and diverse Network Control Centres that supply augmentation data for broadcast by two or more independent communications satellite beams in all regions of the world.
We operate on a truly global basis, providing services in more than 100 countries and with employees in offices and facilities in the UK, U.S., Brazil, Singapore, Mexico, Australia and China.
Veripos recently celebrated its 25th anniversary in business. From humble beginnings, Veripos has become a strong, widely respected and truly global provider of precise satellite positioning services.
Veripos was acquired by Hexagon in February 2014. From the perspective of the majority of Veripos employees, not much has changed since the change of ownership and Veripos operates today as it did before. One element that has made the transition process a smooth one is that Hexagon and Veripos share similar goals and values. Customer focus, innovation, entrepreneurship, professionalism, engagement and driving profit all are embedded in the Veripos culture, so transitioning into the Hexagon family has been straightforward.
Becoming part of the Hexagon global network of brands and contributing to Hexagon’s goals is an exciting step for everyone at Veripos and we look forward to benefitting from the resources and network that will help us reach new markets.
Of particular importance to us are the synergies we will achieve working closely with Leica Geosystems and NovAtel, who will integrate our TerraStar reception capability into their products and services. TerraStar was established over a year ago to address our diversification into land and nearshore applications such as precision agriculture, construction, survey, airborne and dredging. Partnering with Leica Geosystems and NovAtel will provide this business a significant boost and drive the technology to develop new applications that will be beneficial to our network.
Coming together to deliver quality solutions to our customers around the world – that’s shaping smart change.
