I am very excited to connect with you on our brand-new blog, sharing with you how our customers are working to shape change and how industry developments are influencing the world we live in.
Since joining Leica Geosystems as a product manager 17 years ago, I’ve seen remarkable evolutions in technology, in terms of how our customers are solving global challenges and how our company is serving the geospatial industry.
Leica Geosystems joined the Hexagon family in 2005, and I now have the privilege of working with an outstanding team of experts – both within our own and our customers’ companies. As President of Hexagon Geosystems, I’m proud to work with such forward thinkers to solve present and future challenges, always keeping in mind what Abraham Lincoln once said: “The best way to predict your future is to create it.”
I’m fascinated to see a growing number of joint solutions between Intergraph and Leica Geosystems, which are innovating and optimizing workflows and enabling decision makers worldwide to make faster and better informed decisions. A good example is the recent progress to integrate Leica Geosystems’ scanning solutions with Intergraph PP&M’s plant design and maintenance software. Our customer Fenstermaker, which was contracted to develop a lift plan for the removal and replacement of a compressor skid package on an offshore platform in the Gulf of Mexico, will share with us their experience at our upcoming user conference, Hexagon 2012.
Another integrated solution is a landslide monitoring solution for the Municipality of Ancona in Italy. While Leica Geosystems’ solutions monitor the stability of the hillside, Intergraph SG&I’s solutions visualize and communicate alarms to those who need to be informed about the area’s stability. Together, Leica Geosystems and Intergraph, under the roof of Hexagon, make Ancona a safer place to live.
We’ll be discussing these solutions and other vital topics at our second annual international conference 4-6 June. The theme of Hexagon 2012 is Think Forward, and we’ll have technology previews, industry experts, break-out sessions, hands-on training and inspiring keynotes at MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
I certainly hope to see you there, and I look forward to exchanging thoughts in Las Vegas.
